“Southern Duel” (Screech & Saw-whet Owls)

“Southern Duel” -Wood, Metal, Acrylic, Oil. While I have a great, great grandfather from the South who actually died in a duel fighting for his wife, this composition tells the story between two owls; a Northern Saw-whet Owl and a Southern (Eastern) Screen Owl. Whooo wins?! Although owl species in general don’t like each other, the Imperial Moth has momentarily caught their attention. I decided to leave it at that; as nature’s drama unfolds.
