“Rainbow Relief”

After approximately 6 months of practicing how to carve, texture, and paint fish, here’s a rainbow trout in miniature relief. While I carved the trout in tupelo wood and painted it with acrylics, I suggested it’s underwater habitat by carving it in high relief with a high gloss finish. The trout reminds me of happy memories fishing in my younger years with my father, brother, and friends. More recently, I studied rainbow trout at the Atlanta and Chattanooga Aquariums.
