On The Hunt

On The Hunt 48 x 22 x 10 Spalted Maple $3,500. (Large hawk)

I carved this life-size hawk in flight from one large piece of spalted maple wood. It has very interesting dark zone lines and holes which I filled with metal and epoxy, which was a time consuming process. I like the lines of the sculpture along with the negative space which frames and brings dramatic presence to the banking (turning) hawk emerging in flight.
