Kingfisher Sculptures
Kingfishers are one of my favorite birds. Their chatty calls announce their presence along lakes, rivers, and creeks. Simply put, kingfishers have lots of attitude. Oftentimes, this can be seen in their crest feathers as they can look alert, relaxed, scarred, or even angry.
I’ve enjoyed having many wild encounters with the belted kingfisher. Whether hiking, canoeing, or birding, I always enjoy watching their fascinating, yet usually skidish behavior.
While my artistic style has changed over the past 35 years, I’m always passionate about wildlife. I love celebrating the beauty of birds and nature. Hopefully, I can capture the character, details, presence, and life of my subject. In turn, I hope that my original sculptures and that wildlife and their habitat are valued for generations.
