“Egret's Pond”

How do you like the added Lilly pads, made fun metal, to this composition featuring a a miniature common egret? I think they add interest and context while complimenting the hunting egret on its impressionistic base. Also, I really love how the dyed the curly maple hardwood base suggests its aquatic habitat. Egrets often raise their wings to cast shadows over water to better see their prey.
